The Fentons booked their first show before there was a band. In their first year, they were already playing festivals and bars all around the Northwest.

Dave and Jim Keller grew up with music. "We listened to our parents old 78's, with songs like 'Ghost Riders in the Sky', right along with the Beatles and The Band, Neil Young, Creedence and the Eagles," says Jim,"and a lotta years later that kinda formed the foundation of The Fentons." With a couple decades playing in bands all around the Northwest, a suitcase full of country-inspired songs already written, and a friend needing an opener, the brothers enlisted some longtime musical friends and The Fentons debuted at that first club show in 2009. The following year, the band performed at the Bite of Seattle, and for over 13 years have spent summer days playing festivals from Anacortes to Maple Valley, and then hit the bars at night, becoming regulars at The Shanty in North Seattle and other swinging nightspots.

In 2012, they holed up in Georgetown's Earwig Studio to record their debut ep of originals, Twist in the Twine, which features the fan favorite “My Dog Still Loves Me'. They followed that with the self-recorded Little Window (which features a secret cover tune) in 2014 and 2015's You+I+Us+Them.  Summers got real busy with live shows - The Fentons were becoming regulars at the Bite, the Taste of Tacoma, Folklife, Choochokam Arts Festival and the Evergreen State Fair, among others - so it wasn't until 2018 that I've Seen It All Now was released (which includes their set-closing singalong, ”Dig A Hole"). That was quickly followed by Bad Choices - Live, a career-chronicling disc that also includes 5 new originals and a cover of Neil Young's "Saddle Up the Palomino". In 2020, Dave and Jim gathered those early demos - the ones that started it all - on The Fentons present Dave & Jim Keller - Aw Gee, giving everyone a chance to hear the songs that brought the band together. When the pandemic put a hold on live shows, the band returned to the basement recording studio. Released in early 2023, the 8-song Back Down to the Ground shows the band expanding their rootsy sound with unexpected instruments and layered harmonies.

Dave and Jim write the songs and play guitars and stuff. Steve's on the lap steel. Chas hits the drums and Kent plays bass. Most of 'em sing.  And for over 3 years they've continued to mix their influences together into something truly original, bringing their twangy tunes to thousands of fans of all ages, from dark clubs to bright festival stages. And sometimes they wear matching shirts.
